Biography.
Sophia Tzevelekou was born in 1970 in Thessaloniki, Greece. She was greatly influenced by her roots, the “Doric” austerity from Mani and the “cultured elegance” from Constantinople. She studied Painting, Music, Indoor Architecture, Furniture Design and History of Art and from 1997 she owned and managed her own gallery in the center of Thessaloniki, Greece. Articles she wrote have appeared in many newspapers and magazines and she was participating in several art exhibitions in the whole Greece.
Today, she concentrates on creating unique Collage masterpieces and you can find a good number of her artistic creations ornating the walls of many business and professional offices, as well as private residences. She chooses to work on specific subjects based on great, well-known figures from the past such as Van Gogh, Chopin, Princess Sissy, Catherine the Great, Cervantes, Kazantzakis, Alexander the Great, Hippocrates and others. She also likes to work on themes like Commedia dell’ Arte, Greek Drama, plays and operas, ballet or special events such as weddings, graduations and family reunions which are usually custom made. Every copy of her creation is accompanied by a certificate of genuineness.
At present, the artist is married, has four children and lives in Panorama, a suburb of Thessaloniki.
